About WHOP Foundation
WHOP Foundation stands for Women's Hope, Opportunity and Progress Foundation (WHOP Foundation). We are a global non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls through education, economic opportunity, and community support.
Our Story
WHOP Foundation was founded in 2020 in response to the humanitarian crisis in North-East Nigeria. What began as a community-based organization in Tashan Alade has evolved into a registered national non-governmental organization, formally certified by the Corporate Affairs Commission in March 2026.
We operate across vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement, and socio-economic instability—helping them access essential services in healthcare, education, nutrition, and water. Our integrated, community-based approach ensures every intervention is responsive, inclusive, and sustainable.
Guided by international humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence, we remain accountable to the communities we serve. We believe that every woman and girl deserves dignity, resilience, and the opportunity to shape her own future.
